The making of "Antenna"
The goal is to grow as a songwriter and singer. I knew I wanted to make songs that weren't necessarily in with the latest trends or fads, but to make timeless songs with a mixture of genres. I first searched for a new producer that would understand me. I found Doug Boulware, owner of Abstract recording studio who connected me with the brilliant producer Mark Einhorn together with Engineer Andrew Flores. Working with them was easy, fun and a learning experience. They took me in and embraced me with their talents and we co-wrote these songs slowly but surely. Took my time. Letting it cook and simmer. Each song was like a new beginning since they all had a different vibe and stylistically diverse but they all flowed together.
Antenna is basically a love themed album that tells the story of looking for love, found, lost and learned from love, then found again and ultimately living on for eternity. I didn't want to only write about love but that's what happened. I think Antenna is a great title. Always looking for something plus it can also relate to music. It was interesting to see the evolution, development and progression of this album. I'm so proud to see this amazing project come to life after looking back at my little ideas. Making music is one of the ultimate creative gratifications I get.
Shoutout to the gifted Kirsten Rea for adding her beautiful background vocals giving the songs that extra punch they needed. Thank you to Doug B, Mark E, and Andrew F. for their love, talent and dedication to the work.
